Nowadays, finding someone to live alongside for the rest of our lives, to respect, regard, love, share, cry and smile together, seems almost a utopia. Because of this, whoever finds someone and decides to keep the relationship until death knows that it takes a mutual sacrifice.
Look at the example of Bill and Glad, who are married for over 50 years. They met since their childhood, started dating before the age of 18, married and have been together since. Bill describes this in a video shared on Youtube, which you can watch below (Courtesy of channel: Why God?). However, between 2004 and 2005, Glad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Since then, he takes care of his wife with the same love, respect and dedication as always, and he makes it clear that he does not see it as a burden. On the contrary, he considers it a privilege.
Watch the video below and see that even amid the current trends of divorce, Bill continues with the same initial purpose: to keep the love and respect until the end, no matter what happens.
Just being next to someone for what they offer, their money or even their body, will not lead to a solid and long-lasting relationship. Once the problems arise, that “love” will rapidly fade away.
Every Thursday at The Universal Church, a special meeting dedicated to the love life takes place – the Love Therapy. In New York, this meeting takes place at our national headquarters: 1091 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY 11238. If you live outside of New York, you can participate in one of our locations near you. Feel free to contact us for more information.
