Would you take a picture next to a snake? If you are a prudent person, you’d probably avoid this situation, or, at least, be far away from her head.
But Ashok Bishnoi was not even a little cautious. He had the idea of taking a selfie beside a snake while she was taken away by forest rangers in northwest India.
The result was already expected: he was bitten on his shoulder. The moment was recorded by a witness. See below:
The man was unwise and ended up having an accident that could have been fatal if the snake was poisonous. If we look at this situation in a spiritual sense, there are situations, places, and people that we should avoid, not to take risks such as sinning or losing our salvation. We need to be cautious.
If you are married, for instance, why have a close friendship with someone of the opposite sex? Why go to a bar with college friends if you had problems with addictions in the past? Why access websites that you know that can lead you to sin?
This is why the Lord Jesus warns: “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.” Matthew 26:41
Daily spiritual “snakes” cross our path. It is up to us to be vigilant and flee from them.
“Each one is responsible before the Almighty for their errors. In the Final Judgment, each one will be judged individually, according to their own actions. The argument of weakness does not justify sin because God does not allow temptation beyond the capacity of resistance,” warns Bishop Macedo.
