“I was in an abusive relationship…”

I got introduced to drugs, marijuana, and alcohol. I was going to parties. The use of drugs put me in an abusive relationship with men. I had this relationship where he used to slap me and pull my hair. Because of this lifestyle, I was embarrassed and I didn’t want to be around my family.

I woke up one morning and I didn’t know where I was. Then, I had gotten so drunk the night before. I was in a strange house and there was a man there. I didn’t know what happened. That for me was a low point because I was afraid. That scared me a lot. So I thought to myself I don’t want to do this anymore. I just want to be aware of what’s going on around me. But, I didn’t want to end up with strange people.

I knew about the Universal Church because of my cousin. She goes to this ministry. I took my mom with me and I went. At some point, we started coming more. I was very happy about getting close to God and having this relationship with Him.
