How to Have the Mindset of a Possessor?2 min read

Blessing of the Possessor – Genesis 14:19-25

When Abraham rescued his nephew Lot and returned victorious with all the spoils of war, immediately, he glorified God, the One responsible for that great victory.

Abraham honored God by presenting the tithe of all the goods he rescued to the Lord Almighty.

Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said:

“Blessed be Abram of God Most High,

Possessor of heaven and earth” (Genesis 14:18-19)

In the same faith, we must have the mindset of the possessor. Do not depend on others; seek all that you need from the hands of God.

The Blessing of the Possessor

Bishop Joshua clarifies with examples that we can understand today what it means to be this blessing in our day and age.

During this pandemic and financial crisis, many lost their jobs and had no money to pay rent or the mortgage. Just like a snowball or like a domino effect, they eventually lost everything. Why? Because the house they were living in and the company they were working for were not theirs. Those who are the owners did not have the same concerns and worries. When a person is a possessor, they do not fear a crisis because they are in charge.

Upon becoming a blessing, Abraham became the head; he became the possessor. If you are born of God, you are a child of Abraham, and Satan cannot affect you because you have the blessing of Abraham upon your life. God wants for you to be the owner, the boss; He wants you to be the possessor, not for your glory but for His glory. When you are the blessing, when you are the spring of Living Water, no one stops you. Wherever you go and in whatever you do, you will prosper. Not because you are better than anyone but because you are the blessing. (Bishop Joshua)
