After the 21 days of faith dedicated to the Fast of Daniel, many people were baptized with the Holy Spirit in the Universal. The purpose, which began on May 19 and ended on Sunday, June 9, is based on chapter 10 of the book of Daniel, which shows that he decided to fast for 21 days to seek God.
The goal of Fasting is to gain experience with Him through a complete involvement with all that is spiritual. In this period, people set aside the daily barrage of secular information and all forms of distractions that hinder communion with God to engage in the quest for His presence.
As a result of the consecration to God, many people have achieved the glorious baptism with the Holy Spirit, which is the presence of God Himself within us. Those who already had Him could attain spiritual revival.
And the consequences?
After assuming faith in the Lord Jesus, it is common for the Christian to become the target of jokes because of the new posture of life he has assumed. Old ways are left in the past, but trials begin to emerge. It is after the descent of the Holy Spirit that baptism of fire arises: difficult times, trials and unexpected situations that are allowed by the Lord Jesus to prove the Christian’s faith. Many suffer persecution from their own family, are wronged, mistreated and slandered because of their faith.
The reason for the baptism with fire is to purify the Christian, making him fit for any situation, for, after being approved, his faith becomes mature. “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery fire that appears among you, destined to prove you, as if something extraordinary were happening to you; on the contrary, rejoice inasmuch as you are partakers of the sufferings of Christ, so that in the revelation of His glory you may rejoice and rejoice. If by the name of Christ you are reviled, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you “(1 Peter 4: 12-14).
Bishop Júlio Freitas explains in his blog that the burning fire mentioned means tribulations. “He who lives by faith in God is loved and loves him, is tested by the fire of tribulation, persecution, discrimination, humiliation, injustice and temptation, which he burns and whose purpose is to purify. Fire baptism is what separates the false from the true, the sincere from the hypocrite, the rational from the emotional. ”
He further states that if the person is approved, he rises to a higher level spiritually speaking, when God allows his growth and entrusts to him greater blessings.
Those baptized with the Holy Spirit do not negotiate values or principles of faith. They went through three types of baptism.
1) The first of these is water baptism, a decision of the person to change and convert from their evil ways.
2) The baptism with the Holy Spirit is the confirmation from God that the person was accepted.
3) Finally comes the baptism with fire, which is Jesus proving to approve or reprove someone, to which John the Baptist affirmed:
“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire “(Matthew 3:11).
Jesus, after being baptized in the waters and with the Holy Spirit, was led into the wilderness where he was baptized with fire. Tempted by satan, He did not yield to the pressures and remained faithful and without sin, as it appears in Matthew 4.1-11.
Bishop Edir Macedo advises on his blog that the Christian needs to be aware, that the events occurring in the life of the Master also occur in the lives of His disciples. “And you can not get away from it. After all, those who follow His steps are subject to tread on the same stones and thorns, but these no longer have as much power of hurting. ”
So do not be surprised if after you have been sealed by the Holy Spirit you suffer slander, contempt, and humiliation. Fire baptism is for you to mature and do not forget that Jesus will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength.
Be approved and be a blessing!
