You have heard many words in your life: words that lifted you up or brought you down. The doctor might have probably told you that there is no cure for the sickness in your body. The lawyer might have said that there is no hope for the case you’ve been fighting for so many years. Maybe you have been knocking on many doors looking for a better job, but it seems useless since you are always receiving a negative response. Perhaps when you stop and consider your age, you start to give ears to the voices of your family and friends who say that you will never get married, that now you are old and will never have a family of your own.
“Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” (Romans 4:19-21)
Abraham did not waver when God gave him His promises. Even though he never saw a Bible, did not have a church or did not know anything about salvation, he did not consider his situation; he was committed to listening and obeying the voice of God. He simply dared to believe and trust in what he heard. He waited 25 years for the birth of his child, but Abraham became “pregnant” with the promise when God first spoke to him. In other words, the baby (the promise) was not inside of Sarah, but inside of Abraham. Do not consider your problems; consider only the power of God. The promise of God was fulfilled in the life of Abraham because he was not weak in his faith. Do not be weak in your faith; be strong and you will conceive your blessing.
